Vehicle exhibition in front of the “Historical Depot 1913” brings Karlsruhe tram history to life

Karlsruhe: With a vehicle exhibition in front of the "Historic Depot 1913," the Karlsruhe Local Rail Transport Association (TSNV) will bring 148 years of tram history to life in the fan-shaped city on Saturday evening, August 2, 2025. With this, the TSNV particularly wants to offer visitors to the Karlsruhe Museum Night (KAMUNA) the opportunity to take a detour to the listed tram depot on Tullastraße during their nighttime tour.

The atmospherically illuminated historic trams – including the Residenz railcar 92 from 1922, currently under restoration – will be on display on the east side of the tram depot from 6 p.m. to midnight. The building, constructed in 1913, is currently closed for structural reasons. Weather permitting, in addition to the museum vehicles, several other exhibits – such as a first-generation crank-operated ticket machine – will be on display east of the depot. Publications and souvenirs can be purchased at a sales stand in front of the tram depot.

Visitors will have the next opportunity to admire the historic tram vehicles exhibited against this historic backdrop on this year's Open Monument Day on September 14, 2025. The last opening day of the season will be Rail Day on September 20, 2025 , which also marks the anniversary of "125 Years of Electromobility in Karlsruhe." Information can be found at www.tsnv.de.
