Moonlight ride with the Vulkan-Express

A classic is back on the schedule

Travel through the Brohl Valley on the Vulkan-Express in the light of the full moon, enjoy the summer evening by the campfire and finally set off on a guided night hike - all this is promised by the moonlight ride on the Brohltalbahn on Saturday, August 9, 2025 .

With the evening tour, a classic returns to the timetable this year: After several years of interruption, the Brohltalbahn is offering the ever-popular evening trip again this summer!

The tour departs at 6:15 p.m. from the Brohltal train station in Brohl-Lützing, directly across from the DB train station. In the evening atmosphere, the journey continues up the valley through the narrow lower Brohl Valley, over bridges and through a tunnel to Burgbrohl and then on to Oberzissen at the foot of Olbrück Castle. From there, a guided hike takes guests to a scenic barbecue hut where a delicious dinner is served around a campfire in a summery atmosphere.

As darkness falls, a night hike begins under the full moon. At the end of the hike, the "Volcano Express" will be waiting for the return journey. The return journey continues through the night in the nostalgic train cars back to Brohl, where the train will arrive around 12:40 a.m. The fare (including dinner and hike) is €30 for adults and €15 for children. Advance registration or online booking is required to participate.
