The Central Saxony Transport Association (VMS), in cooperation with partners and associations from the entire association area, invites you to a festival all about rail transport on 20 and 21 September 2025 .
Chemnitz: On September 27, 1825, the first railway on European soil ran in England—a milestone in the history of transport! To mark the 200th anniversary of railways in Europe, the VMS, in cooperation with numerous railway associations, transport companies, and industry partners, invites you to a celebration of rail transport on September 20 and 21, 2025.
From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., various anniversary events await you throughout the VMS network, featuring exciting activities, historical insights, and plenty of railway fascination! Special trains and buses will take you from one event location to the next. In addition, a large station festival will take place at Chemnitz Central Station on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Embark on a special journey through railway history!
