The Leipzig Tram Museum offers visitors the opportunity to experience the development of local public transport firsthand. With an impressive collection of historic vehicles spanning from the beginnings of the tram system to the post-reunification years, the museum presents the technical and cultural history of Leipzig's tram system. The museum opens its doors every third Sunday from May to September, inviting visitors on a journey of discovery into bygone times.
Special trips and vehicle rental – Historic trams in action
In addition to the exhibition, the Leipzig Tram Museum offers the opportunity to rent historic trams for special occasions. Whether for weddings, anniversaries, or corporate events – a ride in one of the lovingly restored vehicles turns any event into an unforgettable experience. The operating season for historic vehicles begins annually on April 1st and ends on September 30th. Due to high demand, reservations should be made at least four weeks in advance.
