The Kassel Tram Museum, operated by the Kassel Local Transport History Interest Group, is dedicated to preserving and presenting the more than 100-year history of Kassel's trams. At the Sandershäuser Straße depot, visitors can discover a variety of exhibits, including historic tickets, uniforms, and vehicle parts. Restoration and presentation of historic vehicles
Since its opening on April 3, 2004, at the Sandershäuser Straße depot, the Kassel Tram Museum has been dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of historic tram vehicles. Although the original vehicles have been on display at the Kassel Technology Museum since the end of 2014, the museum continues to offer an impressive collection of artifacts documenting the development of public transport in Kassel. Visitors can embark on a journey through time and experience the evolution of tram technology firsthand.
Events and special trips – Experience tram history
The Kassel Tram Museum regularly opens its doors to the public and, in addition to the permanent exhibition, also offers special events. Every first Saturday of the month, visitors can view the exhibition from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and learn more about the history of Kassel's trams. The association also organizes vintage car tours on historic trams, offering an authentic insight into the past of local public transport. Current information on events and timetables can be found on the museum's official website.
