The Dresden Tramway Museum presents a vibrant collection of over 40 restored tram engines and trailers from over 125 years of urban mobility in the historic tram hall, dating back to 1908. Visitors can immerse themselves in the technology of bygone days with interactive stations—such as control panels and simulators—and experience historic vehicles, some of which are still in working order. On regular opening days, a tour also takes place, with historic trains enhancing Dresden's cityscape.
Voluntary passion and lively communication
Under the umbrella of the Dresden Tramway Friends Association, the museum is run with a great deal of volunteer commitment. Members dedicate themselves to the painstaking restoration and maintenance of the vehicles and offer viewing days, guided tours, and special tours. Additional offerings such as a museum café, souvenir sales, and child-friendly craft stations create an appealing supporting program that appeals to technology enthusiasts and families alike.

Historical, interactive and sustainable – a place of vibrant transport culture
The museum in the listed Trachenberge depot offers hands-on technology history: accessible rotary switches, ticket validators, and real-life driving simulations allow for an authentic experience of everyday tram life. In addition to the vehicles, the listed building itself is an experience, integrated into the DVB depot. On special days such as spring, summer, and fall, historic trains run scheduled trains through the surrounding area, bringing the atmosphere of bygone decades to life.
