Since its founding in 1989, the Friends of the Bremen Tramway Association (Freunde der Bremer Straßenbahn eV) have been passionately committed to preserving Bremen's local transport history. With the "Das Depot" museum in Bremen-Sebaldsbrück, the association offers fascinating insights into the tram's past. There, visitors can marvel at historic vehicles such as the horse-drawn tram from 1888 and lovingly restored railcars from various eras. The exhibition is an experience for technology enthusiasts and history buffs alike.

Events and rides

A real highlight of the association are the regularly offered special tours on historic trams, such as the popular Line 15 – City Tour. This tour takes passengers through the Überseestadt district, across the market square, and to the airport runway. It allows passengers to discover the Hanseatic City of Bremen in a nostalgic and unusual way. At the same time, the ride conveys an authentic sense of former tram experiences.

Commitment and membership

The association thrives on the volunteer commitment of its members, who dedicate their hearts and souls to maintaining the vehicles and the museum. New members are always welcome, regardless of whether they have technical knowledge, an interest in history, or simply a passion for trams. The common goal is to keep Bremen's transport history alive and make it accessible for future generations. Anyone who wants to get involved will find a strong community and meaningful work here.
