The Geesthacht Railway Association invites you to experience the fascination of bygone railway times firsthand. Our lovingly restored museum trains run along the route between Hamburg-Bergedorf and Geesthacht, taking you on a nostalgic journey through the picturesque landscape of Schleswig-Holstein. Our steam locomotive "Karoline," built in 1945, is especially popular with young and old and sets the hearts of railway enthusiasts racing.

Timetable and fares of the Geesthacht Railway

The Geesthacht Railway offers a diverse annual program with various themed tours. The regular route runs from Geesthacht via Escheburg and Börnsen to Hamburg-Bergedorf and back. The exact days and times are announced on the association's official website. Tickets are available directly at the Geesthacht and Bergedorf stations; advance reservations are not possible. Fares vary depending on the route and the age of the passengers, with children aged 4 to 14 receiving reduced fares. Please note that due to its design, the museum train is not wheelchair accessible.
